Food Security: Job Roles for Modern Language Graduates

In this episode, Rachel Sloan, Employability and Career Consultant, explores the impact modern language graduates can make in addressing supply chain issues and the global food crisis. Rachel discusses the range of valuable skills modern language graduates have and the range of roles available to them, including translators, interpreters, diplomacy, global communications, teaching, journalism and roles within technology.

Gordon graduated from the University of Exeter with an LLB in (Euro) (German), English, German and European Law, an LLM in European Legal Studies and a PhD in European Law. He is now working as Principal Counsel Competition for Siemens Energy in his home country of Germany. From Campus to Classroom: Entry Routes into Primary and Secondary Teaching

In this week’s episode Employability and Careers Consultant Sarah Blunt talks with Dan Hartley, Department for Education Adviser for the Get Into Teaching service, and Luke Graham, Lecturer in Education at the University of Exeter. In the first half of the episode, Dan shares what skills he thinks are needed to be a good teacher, entry routes into teaching and progression opportunities available after qualifying. In the second half, Luke talks about the PGCE offering at the University of Exeter and shares his advice on how applicants can choose the right course for them.
